Illinois Glove Company

This Zippo was engraved for the Illinois Glove Company, from Skokie, Illinois. This Zippo dates to 1969. The Illinois Glove Company was founded in 1919 and still exists today! One thing I love about advertising Zippos was how nearly every company of the time had one made for them. No matter the company, or size of the company, they had them made.

Merchant Mutual Insurance Co. | Fortieth Anniversary

Zippo lighters like these are my favorite. They not only advertise a company, but they also signify an important chapter in a company's history. This Zippo was engraved for Merchant Mutual Insurance Company, celebrating their fortieth anniversary! Merchant Mutual was founded in 1918, as the Zippo above says. This particular Zippo was gifted to who I am assuming was an employee, Jim Ryan. It is very apparent that this Zippo wasn't a user for Mr. Ryan, but more of something he cherished. Merchant Mutual is still around today, but as most modern companies, it is a conglomerate of different companies. Merchant's is located in Buffalo, New York!

Foseco

This  Zippo dates to 1968. Foseco was and still is a company located in Cleveland, Ohio. They work with metal castings and foundries. Foseco is an acronym for Foundry Service Company. Foseco was founded in 1932 (the same year as Zippo!).

General Electric

This beautiful Zippo was engraved for General Electric. The company everyone knows. This one dates to 1958 (....ZIPPO....) with the patent number of 2517191.

Burqah Metal Fabricating Co.

This very nice Zippo was engraved for Burqah Metal Fabricating Co., I can't find much information about Burqah today, but I was told by the person I bought it from that they were located in Cleveland and did a lot of the metalwork for building a lot of the factories and such. This one dates from the mid to late 1940s. This Zippo is housed in a steel case with a 5 barrel hinge.
